Darryl Epps
Darryl Epps Jr. earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the College of Staten Island and is pursuing an MSW at the Silberman School of Social work, Hunter College. Darryl is an alumnus of the Cornell Prison Education Program (CPEP), Columbia Justice in Education Program, and the College Initiative at John Jay College’s Institute for Justice and Opportunity (The Institute).
Darryl passionately believes in the transformative power of higher education and its vital role in the successful reintegration of returning citizens. As such, he has devoted his career to serving the needs of system-impacted communities.Darryl began his career in counseling, impacting youth and preparing incarcerated men for reentry. He became a Director of Scattered Site Housing at the Fortune Society. Darryl is the Director of Outreach and Intake at the Institute, focusing on providing returning citizens with access to higher education.
