Aya Mohamed

Aya joined the Institute in September 2022. Aya has five years of experience in social justice, immigration, and law. For the past few years, Aya has traveled abroad and done work revolving around asylum seekers, refugees, and detainees in the United Kingdom and France. Before joining the Institute, Aya worked with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, as well as the Afghan Central Asian Association in the United Kingdom, to help immigrants obtain legal status as well as access opportunities in the economic, social, and health sectors. She has worked in several legal offices in the United States and Europe, concentrating on immigration law. Aya has a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Global Liberal Studies and Politics from New York University and a MA in International Migrations from the CUNY Graduate Center.
