Ask a Lawyer!

November 19, 2018 - November 26, 2018

Ever been arrested? Did you know that at least 30% of rap sheets have mistakes? Does yours?

Come to a workshop and find out!

PRI has partnered with Community Service Society (CSS) to provide free legal services to our students for issues related to past justice involvement. Lawyers at CSS can help you obtain a copy of your RAP sheet and are available to meet one-on-one to:

  • Fix mistakes on RAP sheets
  • Apply for certificates of relief from disabilities and certificates of good conduct
  • Determine if you are eligible for sealing under New York’s law and start your application
  • Provide representation for employment and housing discrimination based on your criminal record.

Free legal services are available to all College Initiative students and alumni. Simply sign up below to attend one of our regular “Ask a Lawyer” sessions.

Location: John Jay College, Haaren Hall, Room 630T (6th floor)

If you cannot attend a session or if you need immediate help with a legal issue, contact your Academic Counselor to set up an appointment to meet with a lawyer.
